Producing our game show
On Wednesday 26th February me and my group went to the TV Studio to film our game show. during our time in the TV Studio we had recorded each round for our show, before we started recording our show there were a few technical difficulties these were the microphones were not working especially for the presenter, as his mic kept going on and off and the microphones the talent were using one of the teams were not speaking loud enough, so it was hard for us to hear what they were saying, also the cd which had the music was not working at first, but was then resolved and was working. When we started recording our show everyone on our team worked very well together the people in the sound room who were Tia (Teleprompter), Hannah B (Sound Mixer), Myself (Vision Mixer), Omar (Sound Effects) and Saif (Director) worked very well together, as I was listening to the instructions which the director gave me and was cutting to each camera when I was told. Hannah worked very well as the sound mixer, as she followed instructions which were given, Tia worked well as teleprompter as she kept the pace of the text in sync with the speed of the presenter. Omar worked well as sound effects operator as he used the effects at the right time and when he was sorting out the music on the cd he was very quick and played the right track for each genre chosen. the people on the set who were Brandy (Floor Manager), Sohaib (Camera), Jason (Camera) and Khalil (Presenter) the people on the set worked well together Brandy gave clear instructions to the presenter and the cameramen worked well together and went to the right shot at the right time. The presenter was very good, as he knew what he was saying all the time and was very confident at what he was doing. Overall I think our show was very good, as we all as a team worked well together and evertyone was organized and knew what they had to do.

Never mind the buzzcocks
Last
week me and my classmates watched a game show called Never Mind the Buzzcocks, it is a comedy trivia quiz show which is based around pop music. There is one team captain on each team and are joined by different music stars. An example of a popular round which happens on a show is a team member has to identify song intros which is being hummed to them. the show is broadcasted on BBC 2 and is aired for about 30 minutes. We watched Never Mind The Buzzcocks because this game show is very similar to me and my groups game show as our show is a music based game show and this show would give us inspiration on how our show should be when we start filming.

Playback of our show
On
Tuesday 4th February, me and my group went to the TV studio to see a playback
of our show. We watched our show to see how we progressed and what may need
improving when we actually record our show. After we watched the show, I thought it was ok, but needed improving especially with the camera work as there were times where there was a lot of head space in the shot. However I thought our show was very organised as most people in my team knew what they were doing.

Proposal/ Idea
On Thursday
16th January I had to pitch my idea in front of my group and my teacher. My idea for my show was it will be a chat/discussion show, the show will talk about different situations which young people are going through e.g. relationship problems, family problems, family issues etc... also during the show the talent/presenter will have a 60 second section where they will talk about the latest fashion, gadgets and cars.
My
show will be aimed at young people who are aged 17-18, both male and female. I
have chosen this target audience as my show is aimed at young people so some of
the topics which may be discussed may link to their lives.
The set for my chat show will be very modern. There will be a stylish, comfortable sofa, table and pictures. I would like my show to be like a living room. I would like my set to be similar to Alan Carr: Chatty Man, as the set for that show is very cosy and warm and is similar to a living room.

I
will be filming my show in the TV studio at college, I have chosen this
location as this would be a good opportunity for me and my peers to experience
how it feels to use the studio. During
this production there will be no cost involved as everything will be done in
college and the equipment we need will be given to us by the college.
During
the show the talent will ask the guest different answers about relationship
problems, family issues etc… for example ‘what is the issue between you and
your mum?’ the talent will be asking these types of questions to the guest
because I want the audience to know the guests situation and what the problem
is.

Using the equipment in the TV Studio
On
Wednesday 8th January me and my group went to the TV Studio to see what
equipment's we will be using when we actually record our show. There were many
equipment's we will be using when we record our show e.g. Teleprompter, Camera
Operator, Sound Mixer, Sound Effects Operator and Vision Mixer.
A
Teleprompter is a display device that prompts the person speaking with an
electronic visual text of a speech or script. The person who is using the
teleprompter has to control the speed of the text and make sure that the speed
of the text is the same speed when the talent is talking. When using the
teleprompter they use a wheel which controls the speed of the text.
A
Camera Operator is a person who operates the camera and controls the camera.
The camera operator is responsible for physically operating the camera and
maintaining composition and camera angles throughout a given scene or shot.
A Sound Mixer is a person who is responsible for recording all sound recording on set and they use professional audio equipment.

A Sound Effects Operator is a person who operates the sound effects e.g. audience applause. They use a screen which has different types of effects.
A Vision Mixer is a person who edits the programme live using a variety of cuts, mixes, swipes etc... When editing the programme they need to know what needs to be shown at the right time.
When
we film our show people in my group will have different roles such as Director, Floor Manager
and Talent/Presenter.
A Director is a person who directs people and tells people what they need to do. The director will use a microphone to communicate with the other members on the set, when being a director it is a very important job because they need to be firm and strict as the director tells everyone what to do.
A Floor Manager is responsible for giving information from the director, to the crew on the set. They also check the equipment on the set is safe and is working.
A Talent/Presenter is a person who introduces or hosts the show, they are always in front of the camera. The presenter has to be a confident and bubbly person and is not too shy to be in front of the camera.
